Timings, fares and food
What time do the cruises sail?
MV Hayathi sails three times a day: the breakfast cruise boards at 6:00 am and sails at 6:30 am; the lunch cruise boards at 12:00 pm and sails at 12:30 pm; the dinner cruise boards at 6:00 pm and sails at 6:30 pm. All cruises run every day.
How long is the cruise?
Each cruise lasts about 2 hours on the sea.
How do I book?
Book online on our booking site: choose the date and cruise, add your guests and pay securely. Your booking is confirmed as soon as payment is done.
Is food included?
Yes. A vegetarian meal is served on every cruise: breakfast, lunch or dinner, depending on the time of day.
Boarding and what to bring
Where do we board?
At Pondicherry Port, Pondicherry. The jetty is also on your booking confirmation.
How early should we arrive?
Please arrive at the jetty at least 30 minutes before boarding time.
Do I need to carry an ID?
Yes. Please carry the original photo ID you used for the booking.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes with a good grip for walking on deck. A light layer helps on the open deck in the evening breeze.
I get seasick. Is a cruise for me?
If you are prone to seasickness, take the remedy your doctor recommends before boarding and sit where you are comfortable. Tell the crew if you feel unwell.
Children, older guests and visitors
Can children come?
Yes, children are welcome. Children up to 11 years old travel at the child fare and infants up to 4 years old are listed as infants when you book. Children must stay with an adult at all times and life jackets are provided for every guest, including children.
Are life jackets provided?
Yes. Life jackets are provided free for every guest, including children and infants.
Is the cruise comfortable for older guests?
Yes, guests of all ages sail with us. If anyone in your group needs help boarding or moving around on board, tell us when you book so the crew can help.
Is there wheelchair access?
Please call us to check before you book, and tell us what help anyone in your group needs.
Can visitors from abroad book?
Yes. International guests book online in the same way; each guest pays the fare for their own nationality, shown before you pay. Carry your passport for boarding.
How many guests can I book at once?
Up to 10 guests in one booking. For a larger group, book the whole catamaran as a private charter.
Celebrations and private charters
Can we celebrate a birthday on board?
Yes. Book seats on a daily cruise for your group, or book the whole catamaran as a private charter for up to 150 guests. Tell us it is a birthday when you enquire.
Can we book the whole boat for a private party?
Yes. MV Hayathi can be booked as a private charter for birthdays, anniversaries, proposals, family get-togethers and corporate events, for up to 150 guests. Send us an enquiry with your date and number of guests.
Weather, changes and cancellations
What if it rains or the sea is rough?
Safety comes first. If the captain cancels a sailing because of weather or sea conditions, you are told straight away and get a full refund or a free change to another date.
Can I cancel my booking?
Cancelled bookings are not refunded. The full policy is on our cancellation and refund page.
